Our Vision

We stand today at a fundamental turning point in the international order.

The intensification of geopolitical competition, the restructuring of economic security, the acceleration of technological revolutions, the return of war, and the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) are simultaneously connecting and dividing the world. The norms and institutions that have sustained the existing international order are facing increasing challenges, and the process of forming a new order is unfolding more rapidly and complexly than ever before.

It is in this era of change that EAI Global has been launched to produce new intellectual public goods. EAI Global is an AI-based global analysis platform. We aim to analyze political, security, economic, technological, environmental, energy, and social changes occurring worldwide in real-time and produce reports that connect these changes to deeper theoretical insights and policy implications. Our goal is to go beyond mere aggregation of information or listing of events, and to read the changes in the structure, mechanisms, and order of events.

The most important characteristic of EAI Global lies in the collaboration between technology and humans. AI is a powerful tool for rapidly processing vast amounts of data and connecting diverse languages and information. However, the task of providing direction, interpreting meaning, and making normative judgments still rests with humans. EAI Global will combine AI's analytical capabilities with EAI's long-accumulated research experience, international political theory, and policy analysis expertise to create more accurate and in-depth global reports.

This platform operates as a global multilingual platform. By providing reports simultaneously in various languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish, we aim to communicate with a broader intellectual community beyond regional boundaries. This is an effort to avoid being confined to the perspective of a specific country and to reflect the viewpoints of diverse civilizations and strategic cultures.

The agenda we cover is extensive. From war and peace, nuclear non-proliferation and arms control, US-China strategic competition, economic security and supply chains, AI governance, advanced technologies and military innovation, climate and energy transition, to democracy and global norms—we comprehensively cover the core agendas that drive today's world.

However, EAI Global aims to be a platform that connects research and action. Our role is to provide policy insights to governments, strategic foresight to businesses, public understanding to civil society, structural interpretations to the media, and a deep perspective for reading the world to individuals.

Above all, EAI Global stands on the fundamental norms and moral principles that EAI has long upheld. Based on the values of peace, cooperation, responsibility, freedom, human dignity, and sustainability, we aim to pioneer the future together amidst a rapidly changing world.

Thank you.

Chaesung Chun, President of the East Asia Institute
