[KF Korea Workshop 2: Kang Won-taek]

The East Asia Institute (EAI), in collaboration with the Korea Foundation (KF), is organizing the [KF Korea Workshop] to enhance understanding and foster empathy towards Korea among foreign residents in Korea.

For the 2018 KF Korea Workshop 2, we invited Professor Kang Won-taek from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Seoul National University as the first speaker. He delivered a lecture on the topic of 'Korean Politics in the 30 Years Since Democratization.' Professor Kang previously served as the president of the Korean Political Science Association and the Korean Association of Party Studies, and currently holds a professorship at Seoul National University. This lecture covered the overall history of Korean politics from the period immediately following the democratization in 1987 to the present, and discussed issues related to Korean democracy.
