Asia Democracy Research Network “Sharing Our Practices for Better Governance” Interview 9

The ninth interview video for the ADRN “Sharing Our Practices for Better Governance” series was produced by King Prajadhipok’s Institute in Thailand. The interview featured Dr. Ruengrawee Pichaikul, Director of the Gender and Development Research Institute. In this interview, Director Pichaikul explained that although Thai law prohibits gender discrimination, female politicians face significant practical limitations compared to their male counterparts. The Gender and Development Research Institute is currently preparing a platform for members of women's organizations to engage in dialogue with government agencies on political issues and is striving to disseminate the value of gender equality not only within politics but also within civil society. Director Pichaikul emphasized that achieving better gender equality requires not only youth education to dismantle gender stereotypes but also a shift in awareness among politicians.
