[KF-EAI Korea Friendship] Yoo Soon-shik, CEO of U&Partners, on ‘Talent Desired by Companies and the Era’

The East Asia Institute (EAI), in collaboration with the Korea Foundation (KF), is conducting the KF-EAI Korea Friendship program, an educational and networking initiative for international students residing in Korea.

CEO Yoo Soon-shik pointed out the significant changes in the Korean talent recruitment market, including the gradually increasing retirement age and the growing interest in recruiting talent suitable for the upcoming Fourth Industrial Revolution and women. He also noted the emergence of blind recruitment practices, indicating a trend where the importance traditionally placed on education, gender, age, and race in the existing job market is relatively diminishing. Therefore, he advised that a proper understanding of the changes in the Korean recruitment market and an awareness of the preferred talent profiles and recruitment criteria by industry for Korean companies can be beneficial for international students seeking employment in Korea.
