The third interview in the ADRN “Sharing Our Practices for Better Governance” series features Nergui Banzaarai, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Mongolia, from the Academy of Political Education. He discusses how the citizen engagement political space, "Citizen's Hall," implemented after President Elbegdorj's inauguration in 2009, has transformed Mongolia's political culture. The interview highlights that when citizens can directly convey their demands to the government, policy decisions become highly transparent and accountable. This process, in turn, enables citizens to better understand policy-making and advocate for and implement improved policies. It serves as a compelling example of the effectiveness of direct citizen participation in politics.
