“Regulating the Internet in China in the Name of Civility”

On November 5, the East Asia Institute (EAI) hosted a closed-door roundtable with Professor Yang Guobin from the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Yang argued that China has employed the discourse of civility, rather than coercive censorship, to regulate online expression.
