The East Asia Institute (EAI) hosted, and Pyeongtaek City sponsored, the 3rd Korea-US Alliance Conference on November 2nd and 3rd, 2009, at the Lotte Hotel. On November 2nd, the first session, a grand debate on Pyeongtaek's future strategy, was held under the theme "Pyeongtaek's Internationalization Strategy for Education." On November 3rd, the second session, a grand lecture, and the third session, a roundtable discussion, were held under the theme "The Transforming World and the Korea-US Alliance."
