[US-China Nuclear Grand Bargain Special Report] “Seeking a Grand Bargain through US-China Nuclear Arms Control, Prevention of Nuclear Proliferation and Nuclear Terrorism, and Denuclearization of North Korea”_Planning Intent

The East Asia Institute (EAI) has conducted research to propose measures to prevent the deepening strategic competition between the United States and China from moving beyond decoupling and escalating confrontation into a military crisis involving nuclear weapons and human extinction due to nuclear use. The research team emphasizes the need to recognize the future risks that will arise if the United States and China continue their current competition in the nuclear domain, and based on this, presents ways to materialize cooperation on issues such as limiting the nuclear arms race, nuclear non-proliferation in the Asia-Pacific region, nuclear terrorism, and the North Korean nuclear issue.
